Women Empowerment Quotes – Hey guys, this is Temi from @Temi.Journals. To celebrate National Women’s Day this year, I’ve created this simple page of quotes to include in your calendar. I show you how to make one below, but if you’d like, I’ve also included a printable option to stick in your journal.
National Women’s Day is a South African holiday created to empower women. It started with a peaceful protest that left a huge impact. It draws attention to issues such as domestic violence, unequal pay, sexual harassment in the workplace, etc. If you want to read more about the history of this holiday, see here.

The first step is to do a quick sketch to map out where things are going and make sure they fit well on the page. I chose a simple calligraphy font for the words “limit” and “women”. I wrote the rest of the passage in simple capital letters. Also draw where you want the hand illustration at the bottom. At first I was going to make three hands, so three drops.

Sketch the punches, it’s easier than you think. Use your own clenched fist in real life to help you think about the shape. Then color the image in whatever colors you want. I decided to paint my nails pink as I wanted it to be my accent on this quote page. I used a 3mm Acrylograph pen for this and it worked perfectly.
I decided to do two skintones for my hands. I painted the left hand with a beige Acrylograph 3mm pen and for the right I used Crayola Supertips brown marker.
Note: Black people’s palm is usually much lighter than their actual skin. I entered it using beige paint for the palms and then using a brown crayola marker on top. If you want a minimalistic vector illustration, use one color.

Now it’s time to ink the text. I used a 0.7mm black acrylic pen for this. I used my natural font for the word “border”. I also used the same pink acrylic pen for the “woman” text and wrote over it in a long narrow curve. Finally, I credited Michelle Obama at the bottom for her amazing posting.
To finish, erase the pencil marks and outline the fingers of the image with a white pen. I used a white Acrylograph pen at 0.7mm which applied the layers amazingly. And that’s it!
I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own page of offers to celebrate women’s empowerment. If you decide to recreate any of these spreads, please tag me on Instagram @Temi.Journals so I can see. The power and greatness of women is evident everywhere you look – in leadership roles at work, organizing protests and campaigns to change the world, waking up every day and continuing to plow through spaces that weren’t created with them in mind and can still you are anything but welcome.
Of The Most Inspiring Women Empowerment Quotes
While we have certainly made progress in terms of opportunities for women, we still have a long way to go, not just in the US, but around the world. According to the International Labor Organization, only 47 percent of women are in the global workforce, while men make up 72 percent. Even according to the International Labor Organization, women who want to work still find it more difficult than men to secure a job, especially in Arab countries and North Africa.
Not only am I a woman, but because I belong to a marginalized group, the gap is even greater. According to the US Department of Labor, a black woman earns only 63 cents for every dollar a non-Hispanic white man earns.
However, the appointment of Kamala Harris as Vice President and the appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court are examples of the progress we have made as a country in terms of opportunities for women. Whether you’re looking for inspiration to cheer up your beloved ladies or words of wisdom to guide you through the tough times, these quotes will encourage women to celebrate their strength, confidence, and peace.
